Do I need previous kite experience to join?

No previous experience is required. This camp is designed for complete beginners and riders still taking lessons who want to progress fast toward independent riding.

What do I need to pack?

Rash guard for sun protection (or a shorty wetsuit if it gets cooler), sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and mosquito repellent. You’re welcome to bring your own kite gear, or use our high-quality rentals available as an add-on. Off the water: t-shirts, shorts, flip-flops, a pair of shoes, and one outfit for a night out.

How many hours of Lessons?

We designed this camp around two hours of coaching per day — the ideal balance for fast progression without feeling overwhelmed. But if you want to progress even faster, you can always add extra sessions and spend more time on the water.

Where is the kite camp located?

The kite camp is located on Avenida Líbano in Progreso, right on the spot. You’ll be staying exactly where you kite — no commute needed. There are small shops and local places to eat within walking distance, and the town center is just a 5-minute Uber ride away.

Is kite insurance mandatory and how does it work?

Insurance is not mandatory, but highly recommended. We do not take responsibility for injuries or accidents, so having personal coverage is strongly advised.

Can I extend my stay or arrive earlier?

Yes — everything is fully customizable. Our all-inclusive camp format is designed for one week, but you can arrive earlier, stay longer, or join for fewer days. If you’d like to extend your stay with accommodation and coaching, or adjust the duration with full board, just reach out and we’ll create a personalized option for you.

How is the temperature?

Warm and consistent. Expect around 30°C during the day, with water temperatures between 28–30°C — perfect for long sessions in the water.

What happens if wind conditions are bad during camp?

Wind conditions during this time of year are usually very reliable. In the unlikely case that there is no wind, any lessons that cannot be completed will be refunded at the base price of 1100/ hour

Can I join as a solo traveller and meet other riders?

Absolutely. This camp is designed for solo travelers and small groups, with a strong social atmosphere that makes it easy to meet and connect with other riders.

What power adapter do I need?

Mexico uses Type A and B plugs (the same as the US) with a standard voltage of 127V. If your devices use a different plug type, make sure to bring an adapter.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes — we can adapt to vegetarian and gluten-free diets. If you have any allergies or specific dietary requirements, just let us know in advance so we can take care of it.

What is the cancellation policy?

You can cancel free of charge up to 30 days before your arrival. After that, the reservation becomes non-refundable.

At OUK, daily coaching is designed to guarantee your progression both in and out of the water-fully customized to your level, goals, and riding style.
On the water, small clinics (max. 4 riders per coach) give you focused guidance on smooth transitions, higher jumps, rotations, grabs, loops, and adding style.
Off the water, mobility sessions, suspended bar practice, and daily video analysis build muscle memory and refine technique. Group feedback and a progress tracker keep you motivated, with an end-of-camp summary + take-home tips to continue progressing.
You'll leave riding higher, cleaner, and with more confidence than ever.

Every day brings a different playground. From shallow, learning-friendly waters to butter-flat lagoons and untouched natural beaches, we choose the best spot based on wind, conditions, and your progression goals so every session truly counts.

Progreso (local spot)

Right in front of our villa. Waist-deep shallow water, non-crowded, and blessed with constant, reliable wind perfect for daily progression and easy access. Average winds: 18-25 knots (Nov-May).

Chuburná

Our secret butter-flat spot just a short drive away. Mirror-smooth water and steady wind make it the easiest place to work on freestyle, freeride, and new tricks.

La Ría

A flat-water lagoon tucked inside the mangroves, just 10 minutes from our villas. With steady wind and sheltered conditions, it's an excellent training ground to work on control, technique, and new tricks in a different setting.

A quiet stretch of beach south of Progreso, surrounded by nature. We'll do one kite coaching session here, riding in varied conditions and finishing the day with wood-fired pizza on the beach.
